DESIGN FOR THE DREAMERS

We’re a lifestyle brand that specializes in fine art wall hangings for the modern bohemian inspired by adventurous and creatives souls from across the globe.

MEET THE ARTIST

Hi! I’m Amanda, the artist and founder of Bast + Bruin.

Bast + Bruin was born in the American West out of a love and deep appreciation for art and cultures around the world. In fact, the name Bast + Bruin has roots in ancient mythology and was chosen to honor the history, folklore, and traditions that inspire the work that you see here.

I’ve been searching for ways to make art my whole life, but it wasn’t until I started playing with fiber and exploring how my love of travel, multiculturalism, and indigenous art could influence and inspire my work that I felt like I had finally found my medium and my style. Today, I’m proud to say that Bast + Bruin is a lifestyle brand that specializes in fine art wall hangings for the modern bohemian inspired by adventurous and creatives souls from across the globe.

When I’m not in the studio, you can find me spending time with my family and dreaming of new places to explore, whether it be in our backyard or halfway across the world. Nothing inspires me like wandering through a new city, breathing new air, trying new foods, and hearing about other people’s paths and experiences.

I’m a dreamer, wanderer, student of anthropology, Gryffindor, lover of spicy foods, and occasional yogi. I live in the Pacific Northwest with my husband and daughter, and I’m always searching for our next adventure.

PAY IT FORWARD

The inspiration for Bast + Bruin art comes from cultures all over the world, and often from traditional artisans who have been honing their crafts and talents for generations. Our goal with Bast + Bruin is always to celebrate and honor the artists, cultures, and histories that have inspired the work that you see here. As part of that goal, we donate a percentage of each sale to non profit organizations that advocate and work for native and/or indigenous women and artists.

Currently we’re donating to RAICES (The Refugee and Immigrant Center for Education and Legal Services), a non profit that promotes justice by providing free and low-cost legal services to underserved immigrant children, families, and refugees.
